I would have the students assigned to study the Civil War. I would ask them to use the computer to develop both a power point and write a paper. I would have the screen recorder have the instructions for how to use power point and Microsoft word.
I would then require the students to develop both a power point and write a one page report. I would divide the students to work on certain aspects about the war. Examples would be North vs South, Major battles and their outcomes, leaders on both sides, weapons of war, surrender, and agricultural vs industrial.
Then the students would learn by seeing the different power points and also read the papers to learn about the Civil War.
Each student would study a specific aspect of the war and broaden their individual knowledge by listening and reading the papers written and presented by the other students.
